Shots, Shots, Shots.

This past Thursday, I received my second dose of the Pfizer shot. After having COVID-19 this past year and witnessing firsthand the irreversible damage and lives it took away from friends’ family members, this wasn’t really a “decision” to make. It should be an obligation as a human and contributor to society, like any other shot that prevents chronic illnesses.

I’m proud to be a part of a community like MSU, where they’re encouraging and even providing these life-changing shots. Per Front Office Sports, “As of May 5, about 40% of people in the U.S. 18 or older have been fully vaccinated. At least 100 universities will require that students get shots by the time they return to campus next semester.” I expect that number (100) to increase significantly in the coming weeks thanks to the availability of the shots.

As a student, I’m super excited to get back to campus and receive the full college experience again, as it will be my last semester. As a human, I feel that it’s my responsibility to raise awareness around the importance of the shot. I hope more educational institutions raise awareness around the shot and go out of their way to make sure their students can get it.
