New York Basketball is Back

I never thought I’d be typing a sentence where I praise the New York Knicks *and* happily say they’re making the playoffs for the first time in seven years. I also never thought I’d see the day when the Brooklyn Nets were a legit super-team, on the brink of a championship. Wild times.

Madison Square Garden has long been coined as “The Mecca of Basketball”, and that couldn’t be more correct. New York is a center of culture, a hub of inclusivity, and the grassroots of basketball. It’s important not only for the sport that New York basketball is dominant again, but for our culture.

I’m also not sleeping on the New York Liberty of the WNBA. They’re poised to make both a strong-regular season and post-season run. There hasn’t been a more opportune time to watch basketball and I couldn’t be any more excited about it.
